ABIREM ROAD CONSTRUCTION BEGINS IN GHANA
Communities around Abirem road set to benefit as the project begins construction.
Abirem road construction has kick-off in Ghana. The 15.8-kilometer road which is worth GH¢37.9 million will help communities that are located around the area. Such communities include Mamanso, Old and New Abirem, Afosu, Ntronang, New Amanfrom, Hweakwae, and Adausena.
The project was awarded to three local contractors is expected with the completion date set for 12 months’ time. Meanwhile, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) will help address the environmental, social and other issues relating to the communities.
The EPA will also hold a meeting with communities affected by the road construction. EPA will form a Local Liaison group, that will help assist them during the construction process. While plans will be executed as compensation for the affected areas hence, the commencement of the project.
The road construction is vital as people of the communities at Abirem will benefit immensely from the project.
